Pre-Conference Ministry Workshops

We open our doors the day before the Church Leadership Conference officially begins to offer pre-conference Workshops. Workshops allow you and your team to take a deep dive into one of Watermark's core ministries, get personal training from ministry leaders, and connect with leaders from other churches who are passionate about the same area of ministry you are!

Pre-conference workshops are held on Monday, April 22, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with lunch included. Workshops cost $50.

2024 Pre-Conference Workshops

Worship (NEW)

Get an inside look at Watermark’s worship ministry and our desire to lead worship in a way that points to Jesus and builds up the body of Christ. This workshop facilitates in-depth conversations about the heart of worship, set planning and vetting songs, auditions, development, building a healthy relationship with your production team, pastoring your team, collaborating with your pastors, writing and producing original music, and so much more!

Kids: Infant - 5th Grade (NEW)

Kids Ministry is one of the most influential opportunities churches have to lay a foundation of faith in the lives of the next generation. We’ll have a conversation about ways we see and welcome kids, teach them about Jesus, and make sure they are safe and secure. Come join us for a dialogue about everything kids ministry, from volunteers to discipleship, and whatever challenges your church is facing!

Introduction to Re|engage

Healthy marriages are the building blocks of a healthy church. If you’re looking for resources and tools to start or improve your church's marriage ministry, check out re|engage, our discipleship-based ministry for every marriage – the healthy, the struggling, and the broken. This workshop is designed for those interested in learning about the distinctives of Re|engage as a marriage ministry and how to implement it at their church.

Advanced Re|engage

Re|engage is discipleship-based enrichment for every marriage – the healthy, the struggling, and the broken. This ministry draws married couples to the church, giving them a safe place to move toward oneness through small groups, teaching, and stories of hope. This workshop is designed to further train and equip churches currently developing or already offering Re|engage.

Introduction to Re:generation

Struggles like porn, substance abuse, codependency, and depression are common in the Church--but they don’t have to be. In Christ, people can be set free. Does your church have a place for those who are searching for hope and healing? We’d like to introduce you to re:generation, our biblical 12-step care and recovery ministry. This workshop is designed for those interested in learning about the distinctives of the ministry and how to implement in their church or organization.

Advanced Re:generation

Re:generation is a 12-step discipleship program based on the principles of healing and life transformation laid out in Scripture. At Re:generation, the tired, broken, hurting, and struggling are invited to find hope and healing in Jesus Christ. This workshop is designed to further train and equip churches or organizations already developing or offering Re:generation.

Operations & Leadership

Our Operations Team, John Cox and Luke Friesen, discuss best practices for leading your church’s operations. This workshop will touch on the unique organizational challenges senior church leaders face, including finances and budgeting, hiring, staff care, leadership best practices, strategic planning and execution, decision-making, and more. Note: this workshop includes repeated content from previous years.

Students: 6th -12th Grade

The Watermark Student Ministry is on a mission to become a place where every 6th - 12th graders in our community can be known, accepted, taught about Jesus, and challenged to grow. This workshop lets you get to know others who are “in the trenches” of student ministry while also learning our approach to making disciples.

Teaching & Preaching

Teaching Pastor Timothy Ateek discusses best practices for preparing and delivering a sermon, Bible study lesson, or training: how to think through preparing your message, how to find your best process for writing a message, key factors for delivering your message, and more.

Young Adults (The Porch)

Watermark's young adult ministry, The Porch, serves over 3,000 young adults weekly on campus, plus many more through partner churches and online streams. This workshop explores our ministry's vision, strategy, and methods. We'll focus on how to engage and motivate young adults to fulfill their purpose in Christ and offer practical solutions for common ministry challenges. Note: this workshop includes repeated content from previous years.
