Re|engage

FAQ: MUST A COUPLE GO THROUGH RE|ENGAGE BEFORE FACILITATING A GROUP?

LEADERS NEED EQUIPPING

We prefer to have leaders go through re|engage prior to facilitating, but this is not required. We believe most couples are better equippped to lead a group if they have been through the program already. There can, however, be exceptions.

When we first started re|engage, nobody had been through the program so we selected leaders in whom we had a high degree of trust. We found that strong leaders, armed with God's word, supported by God's people, and filled with God's Spirit, can successfully lead groups. Just make sure they take advantage of all the leader training resources. These resources are described in the Leader Training Overview.

When faced with a shortage of leaders, the mistake we most often see churches make is pressing unqualified couples into service. This can have disastrous results. Make sure you have a high bar for leadership and don't compromise on it.
